Forensic Science Training and Professional Development

The MFRC develops and delivers innovative forensic science training and professional development opportunities. It does this both to increase analysts’ access to training and to reduce the overall cost for crime laboratories, law enforcement organizations and individual forensic scientists. Some opportunities target publicly funded crime laboratories and law enforcement organizations located in the Midwest while others are open to forensic scientists who work anywhere in the United States. The MFRC covers costs associated with subject matter experts, student materials, class venues and related logistics; and can often support participants’ training-related travel, per diem, registration and lodging. It acknowledges the support of the USDOJ National Institute of Justice in these efforts.
